Incidentally, Angie imparted these words of wisdom swathed from head to toe in burka-like clothing, speaking as she was, during a
Amazingly, neither Angie, nor any of the rest of the scandalised ones suffered a similar reaction to “artists” depicting Christ in a vial of urine and blood, the ‘sculpture’ of the Virgin Mary made out of cow dung, or the limitless ways Christianity is mocked today.
How do they reconcile such inconsistencies? Maybe they don't, but more and more of them are being faced with the problem. And it’s a dilemma that’s going to grow. I say this because surely, now that the Koran burning has attracted so much attention, there’ll be in due course a number of copycat initiatives. In fact it’s happening already.
This will present them with what is, to me at least, a delicious dilemma. The rapidly growing power and presence of Islam are gradually revealing its full awfulness to even the most obdurate. This will run smack into the growth in ‘provocative’ acts I referred to above. These developments in turn will force ‘liberals’ (they are not real liberals of course, as I show in this post) into what are to them unpleasant choices.
There will be no avoiding the fact that the response of choice by Muslims is violence as it explodes in response to the growth in provocations I referred to. Liberals do not like violence, especially when it creeps up to their doorstep. (Ask any liberal academic who has fled a lovely diverse neighbourhood for the all-white suburbs).
I’m reminded of the old aphorism ‘what’s a conservative? A liberal who’s been mugged’
Sit back and enjoy their dilemma, I say!
