Haiti: A lesson for Europeans

John McManus provided a ‘Letter From Haiti’ in the Irish Times last week. The country’s landscape and beaches are stunningly beautiful, and it could be the leading tourist destination in the Caribbean. However its poverty, crime, violence, open sewers, polluted beaches, fatherless families and its status as the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere have put paid to that.

Add a disastrous security problem “security requirements are ever-present, all over the country. Even in this quiet backwater foreigners must be conscious of security, which in essence means a western bodyguard”. Kidnapping apparently is the country’s only successful industry.

Scrap tourism, then.

What about agriculture?

“Despite the fertile soil and almost ideal conditions for agriculture, the country’s 11 million inhabitants cannot feed themselves”. And who does it for them? The much-maligned ‘West’, of course, while Cuba provides its doctors.

Despite the rich soil and billions in foreign aid, McManus sees little hope in a country where "farmers leave irrigation systems to rot, and depend on the rains to grow a single crop of corn on lands that could support two or three harvests a year”.

He despairs of a solution – and an explanation for why it’s such a disaster. I can provide the explanation in one word: Africans. Haiti is made up almost 100% of descendents of African slaves, and the situation there is a mirror image of what we see all over Africa. And what we see in Europe when large numbers of Africans are let in.

Isn't it true that crime, poverty, violence, family breakdown, fatherless families and no-go suburbs are synonymous with black inhabitants? This is why we need to completely stop black immigration, and to send back as many as we possibly can, even if it means paying them to go.

And here’s a kicker. Haiti has been independent since 1804 – 204 years! One of the oldest in the world. So you can't blame the evil colonialists for this one. They’ve had over 200 years to fuck the place up, and boy, have they succeeded.

Haitians are easily the worst immigrants to the US. Belle Glade in Florida is like if you got an African town and dropped in the middle of the US. No white would enter there. They brought AIDS/HIV to the US.

Haiti is a really interesting place in terms of infectious diseases. Diseases exist there that have been eliminated from most Western countries; Mexico, also a Third World country, doesn't hold a candle to Haiti, apparently. American medical personnel and graduate students in immunology and vaccine development go there to do field work because of the prevalence of diseases that have largely been eradicated from the United States. For U.S.medical people, it's like having a little real-time disease laboratory at one's doorstep.

Around the time of the troubles with Aristide and his return to power (c. 1994) I remember reading a NY Times article about the U.S. Army flying into Haiti to airlift Americans out of harm's way. One of the people rescued was an American grad student who had been doing investigative work on some disease for his thesis (cholera? Q fever? I can't remember). I remember that he told the reporter how amazing Haiti was --- amazing in that they had diseases there that he had only read of in old textbooks, like rickets. He had finally seen what a rickets patient looks like, he said; you don't see that in the U.S. these days!

Same here in Quebec, they're basically the only ones who run juvenile prostitution rings. Only young white girls of course, sometimes as young as eleven.

Savant, for an idea where you Europeans are headed by allowing so much African immigration, have a look at today's http://southafricanhell.blogspot.com/ - the post dealing with 40 home invasions per day...

I'm familiar with this site Doodler. Shows how quickly a 1st world country can be transformed into a 3rd world one. Scary.

To turn Ireland into a new Haiti, the multi-culti dream. They have their third world ghettoes, now, we have to get some of our own!
